The US and Russia have called for an urgent meeting of the United Nations (UN) Security Council due to the increasing violence in Syria. Diplomatic sources stated that the meeting is expected to be held behind closed doors tomorrow. It is expected that the meeting will discuss solutions to stop the conflicts.
In the clashes that have been ongoing between security forces and elements loyal to ousted leader Bashar Assad in Syria since March 6, 745 civilians and 125 security forces have lost their lives, while 148 Assad elements have been neutralized.
