US President Donald Trump made statements about the war between Ukraine and Russia. In an interview with Fox News, Trump said that British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron had done nothing to end the war and said, “Macron is my friend. Starmer is a very good man too, but neither of them has done anything regarding Russia.”
“I’m tired of it”
Also speaking about Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Trump said, “I’m watching him negotiate with no cards in his hand. He has no cards in his hand, and you’re tired of it. I’m tired of it.”
Trump said that US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent told him about his visit to Ukraine, “It was a wasted and dangerous trip. I didn’t like it.”
Referring to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s complaints about not attending peace talks with Russia, Trump said, “He’s been there for three years. Look what happened to his country, it’s been destroyed. So I don’t think it’s very important that he’s at the talks.”
Noting that former US President Joe Biden and Zelensky said wrong things to Russia, Trump emphasized that there should never be a war. Stating that Russia “finds it impossible to reach an agreement with Zelenskyy,” Trump stated that he would not invite the Ukrainian president to the peace talks to be held in Saudi Arabia. Trump claimed that Russia did not have to make an agreement, but that President Vladimir Putin was sincere in his efforts to make a peace agreement.
