Erzurum Governor Mustafa Çiftçi said in a statement, "As you know, today, the Vistara Airlines passenger plane that took off from Mumbai, India, made a forced emergency landing in our hands at around 16:30. We had taken all the necessary precautions when the plane landed at the airport. We welcomed the plane with all the precautions taken by our AFAD directorate, security directorate, OMKE teams, health directorate, Metropolitan Municipality, and fire department teams. Then, all the passengers, a total of 247 passengers and crew, were safely evacuated from the plane. Our bomb search teams first conducted the necessary search and screening operations inside the plane. Then, all the suitcases and baggage belonging to the passengers in the luggage compartment of the plane were unloaded. Their search operations were completed both with the X-ray device and the search dog. We have concluded all search and screening operations as of 23:30. As a result of our work, we determined that the bomb threat was unfounded. As a result, the flight ban applied at our airport was lifted. Now, all planes coming to or going from our province can easily take off. Only the plane of Indian origin is still waiting at our airport. Because according to international flight rules, pilots have a certain amount of flight time. Since they have completed this time, they are currently resting. Passengers are resting at the international terminal of our airports. All their needs have been met. A new plane will arrive from Mumbai, India, tomorrow at around 7.25. Passengers will continue on their way again with that plane. They will continue on to Frankfurt. That's all I can say for now," he said.
