The incident took place at around 08:25 on Friday, January 24 at the historic Tuesday Market in Kadıköy. The son of Italian chef Andrea Minguzzi and cellist Yasemin Akıncılar, Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi (15), was stabbed five times by BB, who was alleged to be from a group he had an argument with, while shopping at the market. UB, who was with him at the time, kicked Minguzzi, who was covered in blood on the ground. Mattia Ahmet Minguzzi, who was being treated in intensive care, lost his life in the hospital where he was receiving treatment for 14 days. An indictment was prepared for the murder suspects, demanding a prison sentence of 18 to 24 years for the crime of "deliberately killing a child".
"He stabbed him because he swore at his mother and sister"
Suspect BB stated in his statement to the prosecutor's office that he was over 16 years old and that he went to the market for a walk and encountered the victim there. Claiming that he stabbed Miguizzi because he swore at his mother and sister, BB stated that he stabbed him multiple times because he was provoked, first in the leg and then in the arm, and that he did not stab him after he fell to the ground. BB said that he did not see his friend kick Ahmet Minguizzi, who had fallen to the ground.
Suspect UB said that he was 15 years old, that he saw BB stab the victim, whom he did not know before, 5-6 times, and that he was not involved in the stabbing incident. UB stated that he kicked the victim once while she was on the ground because he thought she had fallen to the ground and was going to stab his friend.
The indictment requested that suspects BB and UB be sentenced to 18 to 24 years in prison for the crime of "deliberately killing a child."
