TBMM Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş continues his contacts in Moscow, the capital of Russia. Kurtulmuş met with members of the Russian-Turkish Businessmen's Association hosted by Turkey's Moscow Ambassador Tanju Bilgiç. Stating that a significant level of strategic partnership has been established between Turkey and Russia, Kurtulmuş said, "Turkey-Russia relations are progressing well despite all these periodic and structural difficulties, we continue on our way by overcoming the problems. Historically and culturally, Russia and Turkey have brought their relations to the present day as two close neighbors and allies."
“One of Turkey’s most fundamental perspectives regarding the upcoming period is to ensure peace and stability”
Kurtulmuş pointed out that the world is at the beginning of a process in which it is entering a new period and said that the establishment of a multipolar world is at the beginning of this new period. Stating that it is inevitable for many new collaborations and new formations to emerge on a global and regional scale in the world, Kurtulmuş said, “As Turkey, we are following a strategy such as re-establishing the upcoming period with the sagacity required by this multipolarity and acting within the win-win principle with many countries in the world by prioritizing our own national interests. In addition, one of Turkey’s most fundamental perspectives regarding the upcoming period is to ensure peace and stability; and to ensure development through peace and stability. Within this framework, Turkey is taking serious action in terms of steps that will ensure peace on both a regional and global scale.”
Kurtulmuş emphasized that the most concrete example of this is that Turkey is almost the only country that has been able to meet with both countries since the beginning of the ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine and has made it possible for both countries to exchange ideas at the negotiation table, and said, “I should also say that peace between the two countries was almost at the signature point during the talks in Dolmabahçe. However, since some countries do not want the war to end, unfortunately today this conflict, tension, crisis, whatever you call it, continues. It seems that it will continue for a while. Therefore, as Turkey, we are trying to do everything we can to mediate in this tension between Russia and Ukraine, as in all tensions in the region, so that a just and lasting peace can be reached as soon as possible.”
“One of the most important problems encountered in the world is the inadequacy, helplessness and dysfunction of the world system in every field”
Kurtulmuş stated that one of the most important problems encountered in the world is “the inadequacy, helplessness and dysfunction of the world system in every field.” Kurtulmuş also pointed out the attacks carried out by Israel on Palestinian territories, especially Gaza, and emphasized that the crimes against humanity of Netanyahu and his gang, which have long exceeded the dimensions of genocide, are one of the most fundamental factors that force the establishment of a new era in the world as soon as possible.
“A new global financial-economic system will soon begin to emerge”
Stating that the unilateral embargo and some sanctions attempts against Russia and its institutions due to the Russia-Ukraine crisis have actually caused the international financial system to face some structural difficulties, Kurtulmuş said, “This alone shows us that it is not possible for the current global financial system to continue in its current form. Efforts to find a new global financial-economic system in the world will soon begin to be much more clearly expressed, and political and even scientific discussions on this issue will begin to deepen much more.”
Expressing that Turkey-Russia relations are deep-rooted, historical and practically existing in every field, Kurtulmuş emphasized that there are sustainable and improvable relations with Russia in every field. After his speech, Kurtulmuş chatted with the businessmen for a while.
The program was also attended by TBMM Deputy Speaker Gülizar Biçer Karaca, AK Party Deputy Chairman Mustafa Elitaş, Turkey's Ambassador to Moscow Tanju Bilgiç, İYİ Party Group Deputy Chairman Mehmet Satuk Buğra Kavuncu, Turkey-Russia Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman and AK Party Manisa Deputy Murat Baybatur, MHP Samsun Deputy İlyas Topsakal and TBMM Secretary General Talip Uzun.
