Amid uncertainty over the second phase of the three-phase ceasefire agreement envisaged to be implemented in the Gaza Strip, senior Hamas official Abdul Rahman Shadid announced that a new round of negotiations between Israel and Hamas on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip have begun in the Qatari capital, Doha. “The new round of ceasefire negotiations began today. Our movement is approaching these negotiations positively and responsibly,” Shadid said.
Israeli delegation in Doha
Israeli media reported that the Israeli delegation that will take part in the ceasefire negotiations arrived in Doha today. According to reports in the Israeli press, the Israeli delegation will try to obtain a concession from Hamas in the form of the release of Israeli prisoners in exchange for a temporary extension of the ceasefire.
