Hüseyin Destegül and his friend Erdi Toprak, who were hunting for pigs in the rural area of Yenice, heard sounds from the mining area. The hunters approached the place where they thought cat sounds were coming and saw a hand reaching out from the pit. Realizing that a citizen was trapped in the mining area, the hunters called the gendarmerie, fire brigade and health unit and requested help. Fire crews arriving at the scene rescued French traveler Marie Laure, who had been stuck where she fell for about 3 days, after about half an hour of work. The 61-year-old French woman, who was exhausted , was taken to Tekirdağ City Hospital for treatment after the first intervention of the medical teams. The gendarmerie's investigation into the incident continues.

On the other hand, hunter Hüseyin Destegül, telling what he experienced, said, "We were looking for a place to hunt. While walking on the land, we saw a hollow place. I was curious, so I told my friend to come and see if there is water here. I heard a cat sound, but it was a very strangely thin sound. Then we shouted towards it and noticed someone waving a plastic bottle. When we went to the other end of the cliff to see the situation clearly, we saw a person with a hard hat lying on the ground, exhausted. Then we immediately notified the teams. He was in a very difficult place, and it was a coincidence for us. "I hope he regains his health and his family," he said.
