As the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) party continues to rise in the polls ahead of the general elections to be held in Germany on February 23, American billionaire Elon Musk continues to support the party. Musk spoke via video link at an election campaign event for the AfD in Halle, Germany. Speaking about the preservation of German culture and the German people, Musk said, "It is a good thing to be proud of German culture and values and not to lose them in a kind of multiculturalism."
Referring to Germany's Nazi past, Musk said, "Children should not be guilty of the sins of their parents, let alone their great-grandfathers. There is too much focus on past crimes. We need to move beyond that."
Emphasizing his support for the AfD once again, Musk said, "I am very excited about the AfD. I think you are really the best hope for Germany. Fight for a great future for Germany."
"Let's make Germany great again"
AfD leader Alice Weidel, who took the floor after Musk's speech, thanked the Republicans for making America great again and called on her supporters to "make Germany great again."
On the other hand, approximately 100,000 people held a protest in Berlin, the capital of Germany, today in order to "draw attention to the rise of the far-right AfD Party and protect democracy."
