DEU Faculty of Medicine Head of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Department, President of Turkish Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Association Prof. Dr. Neslihan İnal was awarded by the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry (AACAP), one of the prestigious professional organizations of the United States. Having a say in the determination of ethical and legal rules in the field of child and adolescent psychiatry in the USA and in the conduct of children's mental health and preventive mental health studies for about 70 years, Maryland University retired Lecturer Prof. Dr. İnal, who won the international scientist award given in the name of Ülkü Ülgür, was thus chosen as the 'international leader'.
"I'm honored"
The academic studies of the academicians who applied for the award from different countries of the world throughout their professional lives, their contributions to the social benefit and psychiatry science are taken into consideration in the award. Having been working in this field for about 26 years, Prof. Dr. Neslihan İnal said, “I am very honored and happy to win this award bearing the name of our teacher Ülkü Ülgür. Due to my winning the award, Ülkü Teacher called me and conveyed his congratulations. Our teacher Ülkü is also the founder of the School Mental Health Unit of the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. I pay my respects to him. We will continue our studies, and we will do our best to raise the name of our University in the international arena and increase its recognition.”
