American scientist Mark Dicky, who was part of the team consisting of 4 US , 4 Turkish , 4 Romanian and 1 Hungarian citizens who conducted research in the Morca Cave in the Sugözü District of Anamur district, organized by the Anatolian Speology Group Association (ASPEG), on September 3. He had a stomach ailment at a depth of 1,400 meters. Dicky's teammates reported the situation to the authorities and asked for help. AFAD to the region, AKUT and UMKE teams were dispatched. Dicky, who was contacted by the teams, stated that he was using his medication and was in good condition, and withdrew his request for help. However, the teams continued their efforts to reach Dicky as a precaution. Professional cavers, including doctors, came to the region. Doctors descended on the area where Dicky was located. Dicky, whose treatment started at a depth of 140 meters, was given 4 units of blood. Dicky, who responded positively to the treatment applied, stood up. After Mark Dicky's weakness disappeared, the team began to work on leaving the cave.
On the other hand, Dicky's latest condition was recorded by the rescue teams who entered. It was reported that Ümit Günhan and Ekrem Özihtiyar from the Turkish cave rescue team, together with the Hungarian Team, reached the sick Dicky at minus 140 meters after leaving food at the -500 camp in the cave and his latest condition was checked. It was stated that the landing team returned to the surface after providing the necessary communication, logistical support and checking the patient's condition.
