Medicana Bahçelievler Hospital General Surgery Specialist Assoc. Dr. Mahir Kırnap warned that gallbladder diseases may not be noticed for many years because they do not cause complaints to a large extent.

High levels of ALT, AST, GGT and ALP enzymes in the blood, which indicate liver functions, are evaluated together with other findings such as abdominal pain, fever, and jaundice. Often these findings are sufficient for diagnosis. However, in some cases, advanced imaging methods such as direct abdominal X-ray, abdominal ultrasonography, MRCP and computed tomography may be needed.
