The Deriner, Borçka, Muratlı and Artvin dams located on the Coruh River continue to make significant contributions to the Turkish economy with the energy production they provide. These 4 hydroelectric power plants have produced a total of 42 billion 96 million kilowatt-hours of energy since the year they were built, while their contribution to the country's economy exceeded 129 billion TL.
The Deriner Dam, the second highest dam in Turkey with a height of 249 meters, was opened to service by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in 2012. While 18 billion kilowatt-hours of energy has been produced in the dam to date, the contribution of this production to the country's economy has exceeded 49 billion TL. The dam's installed capacity is 670 megawatts, and its annual average energy production capacity is 2 billion 118 million kilowatt-hours.
It has provided a total economic benefit of 129 billion TL to date with the Muratlı, Borçka, Deriner and Artvin dams.
