Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian attended the conference titled "Family, Future and Enduring Bonds" held in the capital Tehran. During his speech at the conference, Pezeshkian experienced an emotional moment when he saw a photo of his wife, who lost her life in a traffic accident, on the cinema. Unable to hold back his tears and continuing his speech with difficulty, Pezeshkian said, "I am very sorry. If you allow me, I will not speak."
After leaving the podium, Pezeshkian sat next to his daughter, Zehra Pezeshkian. Unable to hold back his tears, the President continued to experience emotional moments for a while longer.
Pezeshkiyan had lost his wife Fatima Majidi and a son in a traffic accident in 1993. Pezeshkiyan never remarried since that day.
