Pakistani-born British citizen Noor Wali (43), who came to Manavgat with his family for a holiday and participated in the organized tour, entered the Manavgat River from the pier in front of a restaurant on the riverside in the Uğraşlar locality of Oymapınar Mahallesi. Seconds later, Wali began to flutter in the water, and soon disappeared. Upon the notification, Manavgat District Gendarmerie Command Sarılar Gendarmerie Station, Antalya , came to the scene.Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department, rescue and 112 Health teams affiliated to Manavgat Unit were dispatched. During the control of the rescue team, divers were requested due to the lack of visibility in the river. While the divers of the Side Underwater Search and Rescue team found the body of the British tourist at the point where he entered the water, Wali's relatives burst into tears.
The body of the British tourist was sent to Antalya Forensic Medicine Institute after the investigations of the Manavgat District Gendarmerie Command Crime Scene Investigation team, the public prosecutor and the forensic doctor.
On the other hand, the footage of the British tourist fluttering in the water between the moments of entering the river and the gaze of the people around was reflected in the surrounding security camera.
